What We’re Doing

Welcome to our NCAA Totals betting article.  As your author, I want you to get to know me and the process I have been building.  As a degenerate gambler and an avid Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) lover, I have been working on a process to live by for NCAA Basketball totals.  I have been playing DFS for nearly a decade now, mostly for the NFL, but I will dabble in other sports as well.  Make sure to follow me on X (@trevors_FF) for my DFS takes, but today is all about the best plays in college basketball.

The Model

Once Football season ended last year, I found myself yearning for a good product and tool to bet on something.  As I began searching and dialing in different formulas, I found one that I have settled into and has worked quite well.  Last season, between February through the end of March Madness, the model hit at a 60% clip.  Since starting it back up again this season, around mid-January, it has been hitting at a 56% clip.  I am confident enough in this model that I am ready to pass along the plays for free to our readers at Bite-Size Sports!

Recap

Although I am sharing a few picks on X and all my picks on Discord, if you want to be first and get the picks before the lines move, you will want to check out this article each day!  Here is how yesterday went.

The Play of the day misses for the 2nd straight day as Fairfiel and Quinnipiac combined for 28 3-pointers.  Both teams had season highs as they only averaged 15 3-pointers combined per game.  Sometimes we tip our caps to Vegas and move on.  We missed North Florida vs Jacksonville and it wasn’t even close. However, our other miss was close and if we could have avoided overtime we would’ve been set!  Youngstown St and Milwaukee scored just 134 points in regular time, we absolutely smashed it, but overtime destroyed our hopes and we get the hook.  The end of the night continued to go against us as Nevada and SJSU also goes over and we end the night with 3 straight L’s.  A 5-4 with a POTD loss leaves us at -.5 Units on the day.  I am happy we got the losing out of the way before a huge Saturday slate.

Play of the day – Fairfield vs Quinnipiac – Under 157.5 ❌

No Florida vs Jacksonville – Over 139.5 ❌

St Peters vs MSM – Over 130.5 ✅

Niagra vs Canisius – Under 143.5 ✅

Toledo vs Bowling Green – Under 157.5 ✅

Yale vs Cornell – Under 155.5 ✅

Brown vs Columbia – Under 146.5 ✅

Youngstown St vs Milwaukee – Under 160.5 ❌🪝

Nevada vs San Jose St – Under 139.5 ❌

Year to Date

I am going to track our picks year to date from the date we started sharing an article (Feb 19th) which included Feb 18th plays as well.

POTD – 4-2 66%

All Plays – 37-23 61.66%

February 24th Plays

Each day, I will provide a Play of the Day.  This is the strongest play I find on the slate and one I am transparently laying 2 units on. Otherwise, I am laying 1U on the rest of the plays I provide here.

Saturday is for the boys, right?  Well this Saturday whether you are hanging with the boys, the girls, the family or the friends you should have College Basketball on the TV.  No matter what time of day you are watching basketball today I have a play for you!  In addition to the over 20 plays for today I also have multiple Plays of the Day.  I am going to separate the day out a little by time of day.  If you are betting in the morning or waiting until the afternoon I am hoping to make it easy for you to choose which games you want to bet!

Early Play of the day – UMBC vs New Hampshire Under 162.5

A 12:00pm cst tip off this is one of our very first plays in the day.  I have a buddy who will tell you to blindly bet the under for early college basketball games, and while that model seems to work, that’s not the model I used here.  Rather my model which continues to bring us success has this line down at 147.  A 15.5 point discrepancy plus the other data points all well below the 162.5 line. I like this play early in the day.

1:00pm cst Play of the day – Wofford vs Furman – Under 148.5

This line stood out too much not to make it a play of the day.  Neither of these teams have had a game over 148.5 points over the past month.  Both teams are averaging at least 7 points less than the 148.5 per game recently as well.  Should be another easy Under for us.

All plays with a 1:00pm cst start time or earlier:

Houston vs Baylor – Over 136.5

Notre Dame vs Syracuse – Over 131.5

W Carolina vs VMI – Under 153.5

Washington vs Arizona – Under 167.5

Lehigh vs Lafayette – Under 137.5

E Carolina vs Rice – Over 138.5

Longwood vs Radford – Over 141.5

Fairleigh Dickinson vs Le Moyne – Under 157.5

If you don’t see the article soon enough for the early games there are plenty of plays for the afternoon!  Check them all out here:

Mid afternoon Play of the Day: Kennesaw St. vs Stetson – Under 161.5

I wanted to go with an over in this block of games but the model has this line at 149.5.  It’s too strong of a play from the model to not make it another Play of the day!

All plays the tip between 115pm and 3pm cst:

Iowa vs Illinois – Under 167.5

South Carolina vs Ole Miss – Over 137.5

UNC vs UVA – Over 130.5

Texas Tech vs UCF – Over 140.5

Morgan St vs Howard – Under 154.5

Alabama St vs Florida A&M – Under 136.5

Alabama A&M vs Bethune – Under 145.5

The last block of games evaluated for Saturday is the 3:15pm cst tip off through the 5:00pm cst tip off games.  1 more POTD along with 5 more plays.

Late afternoon Play of the Day: Lipscomb vs Austin Peay – Over 149.5

We have to sneak at least one over in for a play of the day!  This is arguably the strongest play of all of the day’s over plays from the model.  Here are the rest of the late afternoon games:

Ohio vs Northern Illinois – Under 149.5

UNCG vs Mercer – Over 136.5

Little Rock vs Lindenwood – Under 146.5

Cal Baptist vs Tarleton – Over 134.5

Texas vs KU – Under 144.5

For my night plays today follow me on X @trevors_FF.  I will look into more of the night games to see if the model likes anything.  For now please enjoy these 4 POTD’s and 24 total plays responsibly.

Tail at your own risk, and thank you for supporting Bite-Size Sports.  I hope I can do the research and provide the model plays to help you win some money!  Welcome to the ride as we get into the pinnacle of college basketball season.
